Great Keppel Island is a beautiful island located 15km off the North of the Tropic of Capricorn in the Great Barrier Reef of Queensland, Australia. There are several ways to get to Great Keppel Island, depending on your location and preferences.

Flying


Flights are available into Rockhampton Airport. Once you have landed, travel by Taxi, Uber or via transfer companies to Keppel Bay Marina (at Rosslyn Bay near Yeppoon) to join your ferry (see ferry options below). The Ferry ride take approximately 30 minutes.

**Unfortunately The Great Keppel Island airstrip is temporarily closed awaiting the Qld Government lease arrangements.

Travel by Ferry


Ferries are operated by Keppel Konnections or Fastcat Ferries from Keppel Bay Marina (at Rosslyn Bay near Yeppoon) – check their websites for timetables and to book. Additional ferries to the timetables are often available on weekends and holidays, contact them directly. The ferry ride takes approximately 30 minutes.

Travel by private boat


If you are arriving via your own boat, we are pleased to provide 2 complimentary moorings for our paid guests who are booked and staying at The Shell House. (T&Cs apply). The Shell House is the only guest accommodation with moorings for guest boats. Whilst we do hope you can make use of these, they have limits to weight, draft and size. We need to be supplied the details of your boat, and your Certificate of Currency of insurance, to be able to provide permission for use.
