Welcome to The Shell House
The Shell House dates back to the early 1960’s, originally a teahouse serving tea and scones, ice-cream and selling shells.
Whilst The Shell House has been transformed into a private beach house, we have preserved the remains of the shell collection.

Our charming 5 bedroom, 4 bathroom, private beach house is full of character and comfort inside and out. Staying at The Shell House is perfect for family and friends to enjoy all that Great Keppel has to offer whilst encountering the magic of the southern Barrier Reef.

Great Keppel Island has 17 white sandy beaches, turquoise, clean waters, an abundance of marine life and spectacular corals. The Southern Barrier Reef weather makes it an all year round destination and with nearly 1500 hectares to also explore via trails or nearby islands by boat,
we think it is the best island in Australia.

If you are looking for a relaxing place to stay you can't go past The Shell House on Great Keppel Island. It has been beautifully renovated with an amazing view directly opposite. Just a few steps & you are on the beach. Great walks and beaches. There are outstanding BBQ areas amongst the stunning landscape. We loved it and will be back.
